Science Objectives

  • Provide key measurements of aerosol and cloud properties needed to improve climate predictions.
  • Provide a global set of data on cloud and aerosol properties, radiative fluxes, and atmospheric state.
  • Enable new assessments of the radiative effects of aerosol and clouds that will greatly improve our ability to predict future climate change.

CALIPSO Outreach Mission

The goal of the CLIPSO Outreach Program is to provide information on global climate change to the public in an effort to develop scientifically literate citizens. The aim of the outreach mission is to promote lifelong learners capable of understanding the issues related to atmospheric sciences and making educated decisions regarding climate change, pollution, and conservation.
