The Alliance for a Clean Environment is concerned about the quantity of sulfur dioxide pollution. You have been asked by the Alliance to investigate the impact of sulfur dioxide and other aerosol emissions in your area. If you determine that there is a problem, your report should provide appropriate recommendations.

It is well known that the increase of industrial practices has had a negative impact on the environment. The surface temperature of the earth is estimated to have increased between 0.5 and 1°F in the past 100 years.

One of the areas targeted by the Consortium for Clean Air (CCA) is the smokestack industry and power plants. Spokespersons for these industries refute the claim about adverse effects. They state that aerosols from coal burning plants and heavy industry actually produce an atmospheric cooling effect. Your task is to determine if aerosols from these industries make a significant contribution to reducing the global warming trend.
