CALIPSO Payload's Arrival in France
The following seven pictures show the CALIPSO payload's journey from landing in Nice, France to it's offloading at the Alcatel facilities. The tractor/trailer was first driven onto the C5A at Buckley AFB in Colorado and then driven off at the Nice Airport in France. The payload is the large, white, covered container in the middle of the trailer's bed emerging from the belly of the plane. Picture 7 shows the payload's white shipping container, uncovered and designated by the NASA meatball with "CALIPSO" above it, being unloaded from the trailer by a forklift.
