Attention Teachers!

Join the CALIPSO/CloudSat/GLOBE Web Forum (Oct. 17-21)

Now is your chance to have your students participate in a web forum with mission scientists from CALIPSO and CloudSat!   Currently, we are counting down to our launch date of October 26th and as part of the pre-launch activities we’ve arranged to have a web forum for teachers and students.  Of course we want ALL of our CCAG teachers and students to participate.  The forum will be asynchronous so you can post your questions at any time.   The web forum will be hosted by GLOBE from Oct. 17th through 21st, so you have FIVE days to participate.  An abundance of materials will be available at the website to assist you with better understanding the missions. So, it’s time to get those thinking caps on and come up with some interesting questions about the missions, weather, clouds, aerosols, and climate change.

How to participate in the CALIPSO / CloudSat / GLOBE web forum:

1) First - You may enter the forum at: http://chat.globe.gov/ccag/signon.cgi

Any teacher or student may participate.  You don’t have to be a GLOBE or CCAG teacher to chat.

2) Second - Once you log on to the forum chat area you will need to enter the name of your school or organization.

3) Third - Enter your name as first initial and last name.  Example:  Daniel Matthews should be entered as D. Matthews.  (Optional)

4) Fourth - Choose your country from the pull-down list.

5) Finally, click on "ENTER GLOBE FORUM" to enter the forum where you will be able to post your question.  Once inside the forum, you post your question by typing it into the large white box and then clicking on the "Click Here to Send Your Message" button.  Below are some helpful hints for participating in the chat.
